Chinese Paper Folding & Chinese Calligraphy July 29, 2008

Join artist Chiao Bin Huang for a day of traditional Chinese artwork. In the morning, watch as she creates intricate paper cutouts and introduces this decorative folk art to visitors of all ages. Then stay in the afternoon as Ms. Huang offers Chinese calligraphy workshops. She will show how characters have changed over time, from pictographs to the simplified forms we use today, and demonstrate how to write characters with a brush and ink. (Calligraphy workshops are for visitors age 7 and up. Please check the museum website for exact times.)
