Singapore Zoo is going all Rabbit-y this Chinese New Year with a whole slate of activities to involve the whole family in February. Visitors can interact with rabbit mascots distributing goodies, or a ‘God of Fortune’ sweeping good luck over them, while being entertained by traditional lion dance and mask changing performances.
Kids can learn about unusual breeds of rabbits at a photography and hands-on session, and guess the weight of a Giant Flemish, one of the largest breeds of domestic rabbit, for a chance to win attractive prizes.
Chinese New Year Activities
Southern Lion Dance & Mask Changing Performance
Vigorous Southern lion dancers will leap from high poles and give visitors thrilling performances during the festive season. This traditional mixture of martial art, acrobatic and stage performance skill was introduced in Southeast Asia more than a century ago. The Southern lion originates from south China and the dance is very symmetrical in the movement of the head and body. Be thrilled by this exciting lion dance coupled with the mastery of the mask changing performance!
