Traditional Chinese ink art is considered one of the greatest expressions of Chinese spirituality and can be likened to the physical and mental discipline of tai chi. Through mental concentration and disciplined repetition of the movement of the brush and the formation of the character, one is instilled with a sense of calm, inner serenity and good health. In this course for new and returning students, participants will explore the natural and simple beauty of trees, rocks, water and mountains and learn the basics of Chinese calligraphy, which will be used to finish paintings in the traditional style.
