The Evanston History Center invites children, ages 5-10, to discover how families celebrated Christmas in years gone by. Enjoy a guided tour of the Charles Gates Dawes house decorated in all its Christmas splendor, including traditional decorations and Christmas trees from the 1860s, 1890s, and 1920s. Plus, making Victorian "scrap" ornaments, sing carols, play traditional parlor games and enjoy some holiday treats! Please bring your recycled holiday greeting cards for a craft activity & a nonperishable food item (no glass, please) to be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
