Club to Assist in Local Child Seat Fitting Clinic
Indianapolis, IN (Aug. 7, 2007) – AAA Hoosier Motor Club will assist the Marion County Traffic Safety Partnership in conducting a complimentary child safety seat fitting clinic Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
The church is located at 3535 Kessler Blvd. N. Drive.
Certified child passenger safety seat technicians, including those assisting from AAA Hoosier Motor Club, will be on-hand to show parents and caregivers how to properly install safety seats in vehicles as well as how to properly secure children in their respective seats.
National studies continue to show that more than 80 percent of existing child safety seats in America are still being misused in one way or another. However, local technicians who often help conduct clinics in central Indiana often report misuse rates of as high as 90 to 95 percent.
The Aug. 18 clinic is intended to educate parents and caregivers so that they can ensure their children are properly protected while traveling on Indiana roadways and beyond.
Those interested in attending and having their car seats inspected should schedule an advance appointment by calling 317-327-5356.
All participants will be required to have their vehicle present along with the child being fitted and the respective car seat itself in order to ensure proper installation and instruction.
