Chicago Pride Bowl II June 25, 2009

Pride Bowl II is on! The second annual flag football tournament held in conjunction with Chicago's Pride celebration is set to take place June 26-27, 2009. Team and player registration will be available soon, but you can start booking hotel reservations now. As with last year, invitations will not be required for team registration; if you're interested in entering a team, please drop Chipp Collins (chipp@gayflagfootball.com
) an email so we can gauge overall interest. The early deadline for team registration is going to be April 30, and the final deadline will be in early June.

Here is an outline of events:

Thursday, June 25 - Sign-in party.
Friday, June 26 - Pool play; Player's party.
Saturday, June 27 - Tournament play; Championship party.

An overwhelming majority of players polled last year said they would rather stay in Boystown than downtown, even if it meant higher room rates. With that in mind, we negotiated deals on rooms at several hotels in Boystown. They are all about 2 miles away from the fields and within walking distance of the site of the Pride Parade and the Boystown nightlife. However, because this is Pride weekend, the Friday and Saturday night rates are higher than the Thursday and Sunday night rates, and in some cases significantly higher than last year's hotel.
