Chicago Fire "Real Fan Days" Festivities at Brookfield Zoo July 30, 2011

The Chicago Fire will be celebrated during their “REAL FAN DAYS” weekend on July 30 and July 31. Festivities include appearances by current Chicago Fire players and Sparky the mascot, animal Zoo Chats, a scavenger hunt for Chicago Fire tickets, soccer skill games, and more.
Visitors who wear Chicago Fire apparel will receive a 20 percent discount off zoo admission. All activities are free with regular admission of $13.50 for adults and $9.50 for children 3 to 11 and seniors 65 and over. Children 2 and under free. Parking is $9.

Meet and get autographs from current Chicago Fire players:
o Steven Kinney and Corben Bone on July 30 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
o Patrick Nyarko and Orr Barouch on July 31 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Partake in a scavenger hunt that will take place around the zoo connecting sports teams, skills used in playing soccer, and fun facts about animals at the zoo. Complete the quiz correctly and you will be entered in a drawing for Chicago Fire game tickets.
Meet Sparky, the Chicago Fire mascot.
Be a sports broadcaster and announce iconic sports plays at the broadcast “karaoke” booth.
View sports memorabilia on the West Mall.
A special leopard Zoo Chat will be held tying in fun facts about the speedy Chicago Fire team.

Free Soccer Skill Drills on Brookfield Zoo’s West Mall
Soccer Shootout: participants will compete to see who can make the soccer ball land closest to designated targets.
Human Foosball: an air-cushioned bumper fully surrounds the playing area where participants wear harnesses attached to heavy ropes while playing the game.
Penalty Kick/Target Shot
Giant Bags Set: sports fans of all ages can play a super-sized version of the classic tailgating game.

“REAL FAN DAYS” is a seven-weekend series that runs from July 9 to September 4 and will allow fans of Chicago professional sports teams to meet players and mascots, test their skill at sports games, and enjoy themed entertainment. Plus, guests can discover the REAL connection their favorite teams share with iconic animals at Brookfield Zoo and within the Great Bear Wilderness exhibit, presented by Dominick’s, through programming and activities.
