Chicago Dance Crash unlocks one of the literary cannon's most richly layered and spiritually complex works and dusts it off (along with a few pairs of pointe shoes) for a 21st century audience. Frustrated by the limitations of a life of isolation and inquiry, the clandestine genius Faust finds himself in the unique position of wager between a just and logical God and the ardent, seductive Mephistopheles. Artistic Director Kyle Vincent Terry presents a dark and sensuous tale that reflects the secular and spiritual dilemmas of the here and now.
Chicago Dance Crash continues the 2008 season with Faust, running from July 25-August 10 at Theatre Building Chicago on 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8PM and Sunday matinees are at 3PM. Tickets are $20.
