Registration is underway for the 8th Annual “Race to Wrigley” 5K Run to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital. Presented by Athletico, the race will start and finish at Wrigley Field.
Known to be the only footrace in Wrigleyville, the course route will take runners through the streets of Lakeview before returning to the ground level concourse to finish under the famed Wrigley Field Marquee at Clark and Addison.
Limited parking is available in the Cubs Green Lot on Grace Street at Clifton Avenue, just east of Clark Street.
This year’s official race starter is Laura Ricketts, Board Chair of Chicago Cubs Charities.
Like year’s past, Chicago Cubs Charities will donate all personal fundraising proceeds to Lurie Children’s. The top fundraising team and individual fundraiser will receive tickets to the May 18th Cubs game against the New York Mets and be recognized in an on-field pre-game ceremony. The top three overall fundraisers will each receive an autographed official Cubs jersey. Anyone who raises more than $1,000 will be a Race MVP and have the opportunity to run a post-race victory lap around the warning track of Wrigley Field, have their name is displayed on the centerfield scoreboard, receive a Race MVP ball cap enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet in the Wrigley Field Grandstands. The first 250 runners who raise $500 will receive a complimentary breakfast buffet in the Wrigley Field grandstands. All participants will receive a “Race to Wrigley” running shirt and are encouraged to wear it on race day.
