Chicago Artist Showcases Work At North Riverside Mall Theatre May 31, 2011

North Riverside, IL – Artist Leon Sarantos’ work has captured the eyes of many throughout the Chicagoland area. His art combines painting with travel, capturing the beauty of the surrounding landscapes and cityscapes he finds throughout the world. Throughout the month of June, 2011, Leon will be sharing his oil paintings with visitors at the popular North Riverside Mall Theatre, located at 7501 West Cermak Road, where his paintings will be on display in the lobby exhibit space.

Having been a practicing artist for just five years, Leon was, first, an accomplished architect. He studied architecture at the University of Michigan and eventually studied figure painting at the Art Institute of Chicago. Becoming an artist was a personal decision for Leon, as well as a family one: he says his wife is his ‘biggest fan,’ always encouraging him throughout his career.

Leon Sarantos displays his paintings in venues throughout the Midwest. He recently joined an artist’s collective, 119th Street Artists, which exhibits at CornerStone Art Center and Gallery in Indiana. Leon is excited for this upcoming art display at North Riverside Mall Theatre, and says, “I hope to bring viewers some enjoyment and maybe an interest in following my artwork and career.” Leon, his wife and his son currently reside in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
