The Religious Studies and Philosophy Department and the Graduate Program in Holistic Spirituality at Chestnut Hill College will host an interdisciplinary conference on “The Irrepressible Energy of the Spirit: Vatican II and Beyond,” from April 12 through April 14 on the College campus.
Highlights of this conference include a Friday evening keynote presentation by Dr. Peter Steinfels, co-director of the Fordham University Center on Religion and Culture and New York Times religion columnist, who will speak on "Vatican II: What Does a Revolution Mean?" Other speakers include Dr. Regina Bannan of Temple University, who will chair a panel on Catholic women and Vatican II, Dr. Bernard Prusak of Villanova University, author of “Turning Point,” an article in Commonweal magazine based on his experiences working at the Council and Rev. Tim Emeka Asogwa, University of Nigeria, who will discuss the challenges Catholic schools in Nigeria face today.
