Amanda Grannas, Ph.D., assistant professor of chemistry at Villanova University, will present the lecture, “Pollutants Without Borders: An Outreach Lecture in Environmental Analytical Chemistry,” on Monday, October 26 at 1 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. Dr. Grannas lecture is sponsored by the Analytical Division of the American Chemical Society. In this lecture, Dr. Grannas will discuss current topics in arctic environmental chemistry, focusing on the transport and deposition of organic pollutants in polar ecosystems, and the impacts these pollutants may have on wildlife and indigenous populations that rely on subsistence lifestyles. Results from recent field and laboratory studies done by the Grannas Research Group will be highlighted. For more information, contact Dr. Karen Wendling at 215.248.7080 or wendlingk@chc.edu.
