Chestnut Hill College to Host Fair Trade Event March 24, 2010

Chestnut Hill College will host a Fair Trade Event on March 24, 2010 from noon to 4 PM, in the music cooridor. Fair Trade Events are based off of the Fair Trade Act that was established to help producers in underdeveloped countries reach self- sufficiency and economic stability. The events are designed to provide producers with a chance to create long-term trade relations between continents while eliminating the ‘sweatshop’ working conditions as much as possible. The trade is effective because the producers are receiving the maximum wage possible for their products.
