Chestnut Hill College Professor to Perform Poetry from New Collaborative Project April 28, 2011

Chestnut Hill College English professor John Ebersole will perform poetry from his new collaborative media project, “Camaraderie” on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the College’s East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. The event is sponsored by the English Department at Chestnut Hill College.

Poet and English professor John Ebersole and Justin Hardison, a sound artist, will read and perform work from “Camaraderie,” the first experimental collaborative project from The Land Of, an independent record label based in Brooklyn, New York. “Camaraderie,” a CD and book, combines poetry and music and explores the possibilities of expressive fellowship.

Ebersole, who received a master of fine arts degree in poetry from Columbia University, has taught at Chestnut Hill College since 2007. His poetry has appeared in the Western Humanities Review, Octopus Magazine, Bateau and the Pennsylvania Naturalist.

Hardison, who works under the pseudonym My Fun, creates work using field recordings, sampling, found sounds and electronic processing. His work has been released under several labels, such as The Land Of, Statisfield, Ristretto and Test Tube. Hardison focuses on exploring the emotive quality of everyday sounds and accompanying those sounds with narrative work without any particular musical genre in mind.
