Chestnut Hill College alumna Tia Noelle Pratt ’99 will present a lecture on her doctoral research regarding African Americans and the Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.
In her lecture, Pratt will explore the rich and painful history of African Americans as part of the Roman Catholic Church, and will examine how black Catholics incorporate their dual heritages as African Americans and Roman Catholics into a cohesive identity despite many obstacles.
