Cherryville New Year Shooters December 30, 2008

100 + year old tradition. Hundreds of men women and children follow the "shooters" throughout the night to the ring of black powder muskets. Teams travel by convoy(100s of trucks, cars, vans, trailers) to homes waiting to welcome them all night long. Groups start out again @ 8:00 am to ring cheer and scare off evil spirits with the black powder musketts and song, until regrouping at the High School Stadium. A must see event.
