Cherry Creek Theatre presents
Doubt: A Parable
By John Patrick Shanley
Directed by Richard H. Pegg
March 8 – 31, 2013
Award winning drama about belief, faith and the truth!
Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, Doubt is a gripping story of suspicion cast on a priest's behavior. In this brilliant and powerful drama, set in 1964, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.

The cast includes Erik Tieze as Father Flynn, Anne Oberbroeckling as Sister Aloysius, Rachel D. Graham as Sister James and Ziedha Peterkin as Mrs. Miller.
Producer Pat Payne said, "We are so excited to be opening our 3rd season with “Doubt,” which I believe to be one of the finest plays written in the last decade. We are equally excited to be welcoming Richard Pegg back after the success of last season’s Proof." "It is amazing to see theatre taking off in Cherry Creek, and we hope that if you haven't experienced Cherry Creek Theatre Company you will join us for this wonderful evening of theatre presented in the intimate beauty of Shaver Ramsey Gallery."
John Patrick Shanley has written some two dozen off-Broadway plays since the 1970s, but New York theater critics were rarely kind in their assessments. That changed when he made an impressive Broadway debut in 2005 with Doubt, a parable, which went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in drama as well as the Best Play honors at the season-ending Tony Awards. "The play's not so much about the scandal itself, but the philosophical power in embracing doubt," he remarked in an interview with Everett Evans of the Houston Chronicle. Doubt was not the first time Shanley seemed to hit one out of the ballpark, however: in 1987, his screenplay for Moonstruck won him an Academy Award.
