Acclaimed singer/songwriter Chely Wright has signed with Vanguard Records and will be releasing her new CD, Lifted Off The Ground, on May 4th. Produced by Rodney Crowell, Lifted Off The Ground includes eleven songs all written by Chely except for one song which she co-wrote with Crowell. Simultaneously, Chely will also be releasing her first book entitled, Like Me (Random House). A moving and candid account of her life, her career and her extraordinary journey. Like Me is a book of revelation: honest, inspiring and true. Best known for such chart-topping hit songs such as “Single White Female” and “Shut Up and Drive” Chely Wright has garnered numerous awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. She received the Academy of Country Music’s Award for Best new Female Artist in 1995 and has been featured in People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” in 2001.
