Chef Louis DiBiccari of Back Bay’s Sel de la Terre will host Chef Louie Night on April 25th, 2011 at 6pm at Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill in Fenway. The theme of the dinner is Boston vs. New York City and will feature a cook off between Chef Mike Bergin from L’Espalier representing Beantown, and Chef Jackie Kelly from Jerry Remy’s representing the Empire State. While it’s unlikely there will be leftovers, a portion of each ticket sold will benefit local hunger relief charity Lovin’ Spoonfuls.
The battle between the two cities has long been debated in sports by passionate fans for as long as anyone can remember, but the arena shifts to the kitchen for Chef Louie Night. Guests will indulge in an all out family-style feast prepared by two of Boston’s most talent up-and-coming sous chefs. Guided by Chef Louie, Bergin (Boston) and Kelly (NYC) will have hours to transform the winning ingredients into an urban inspired meal.
Video highlights of the day’s kitchen action will broadcast on big screen TVs during the event, documenting the cooking, the planning and the buffoonery. During the meal, guests will vote on each dish and the wining chef will live forever as a hometown hero and have a statue of themselves in the heart of their city. (Disclaimer: this might not happen). Will it be Boston or New York? There is only one way to find out-join us for Chef Louie Night!
