Chautauqua Opera: Luisa Miller July 9, 2011

Chautauqua Opera Company will join with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in a production of 'Luisa Miller' by Giuseppe Verdi on the Amphitheater stage. 'Luisa Miller' will be performed in Italian with English supertitles. Seating for this event will be available to anyone holding a valid gate pass for the evening of July 9. Luisa, daughter of the local Miller, has fallen in love with Rodolfo, not knowing that he is in truth the son of the powerful Count Walter. The Count will do anything to prevent an alliance between his noble son and a peasant girl. Unrequited love and family discord lead to tragedy of operatic proportions.
