Charlotte County Big Read - Kickoff with Author Stephen King March 20, 2010

The Charlotte County Big Read is being developed by seven community partners. A series of programs and events offered at a variety of locations between March 20 and April 30 will focus on the stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe. The Big Read Committee selected Poe from the National Endowment for the Arts list of Big Read authors for his broad appeal across ages and genres – literature, drama, visual art and film. Charlotte County Public Schools will integrate Poe’s literature into the middle and high school curricula during the 2009-10 school year. Drama and the visuals arts will also be incorporated into the community and school activities. There is no charge for this event, but you must have a ticket to attend.
