Charles Spearin & Years With Do Make Say Think December 4, 2009

About a year ago, founding member of Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think, Charles Spearin, started a neighborhood project. He began interviewing his neighbors in multicultural downtown Toronto on the subject of happiness. He played back the interviews and picked out the segments that lent themselves most to a musical setting, had his friends compose music, and arranged the words and music as songs. The resulting album was nominated for Canada’s prestigious Polaris Music Prize this year.
