Charles Rosen made his New York debut in 1957 and since then his career as a piano virtuoso has included many tours of the United States and Europe, playing with leading orchestras and giving recitals. His recording of the Diabelli Variations received a Grammy Award nomination. Charles Rosen is also a distinguished writer on music having won the National Book Award for Arts and Letters in 1972 for The Classical Style; a guide to the music of the late 18th century through the music of its greatest geniuses: Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
