Charity football tournament in Haslemere (the 7th year we’ve run it), includes a team from Haslemere’s twin town which has come over and won the tournament on three previous occasions, including last year, and remain the favourites to win this time round and retain the trophy. The tournament will take place on Saturday 29th May 2010 at the Hindhead Playing Fields, in Beacon Hill.
Dynamo Haslemere is a local veterans’ football team and are organising the forthcoming ‘Haslemere 2010’ charity football tournament. There will be 14 veterans’ teams participating altogether in the six-a-side tournament―all from the local area with the exception of the French team. They are: Dynamo Haslemere (three teams), Les Arcbusiers (Bernay, France, two teams), ‘Fat Dads’ (two teams), Hambledon, Chiddingfold, Stoke Park, Shalford, and Northchapel.
The tournament is raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). This has been the Club’s chosen charity following the death of one of the players from the disease in 2004. The previous seven Haslemere football tournaments have altogether raised more than £20,000 for the MNDA.
