Chapman State Park Programming-Chapman Canoe Tour. Chapman State Park, Clarendon, PA 16313. 3:30 PM - 5 PM. Come to the Mooring Area by the Warming Hut for a short lesson on basic boating safety and then take a canoe tour on the lake and West Branch of the Tionesta Creek. We will lean about the plants and animals of Chapman as well as the history of the area. Pre-registration is REQUIRED as canoes are limited. You may bring your own canoe or kayak but you must still register. Registrations can be made by calling the park office at 814-724-0250 by Friday 7/2/2010. 6:30 PM - 8 PM. Secrets of the Indian Medicine Man. L. Christian Mosebach, Forestry and Natural Resources Educator for Penn State Cooperative Extension, will present a family woods walk titled "Secrets of the Indian Medicine Man." This easy 1 hour walk will cover local plants used by Native Americans and pioneers for both food and medicine. In addition, participants will learn to identify some common PA trees and wildflowers.
