Changing Strategies (Innovative Thinking in Community Development) will gather leaders from throughout the United States to explore best practices and innovations in community development from a holistic perspective. Changing Strategies will open with a roundtable discussion about community development that reaches beyond the traditional standard of housing or real estate development. The summit will explore and present national models that build collaborations across culture, communities and include community development corporations and faith-based organizations. The Changing Strategies Summit will focus on four areas Education, Financial Literacy, Green Jobs and Technology and Social Entrepreneurship.
Through Changing Strategies (Innovative Thinking in Community Development) we will begin the process of building sustainable community development collaborations that transforms lives and neighborhoods. In collaboration with CDAD (Community Development Advocates of Detroit) we will engage in collaborative short and long-term plans to implement an aggressive strategy of change in the Detroit area. Our expert team of associates includes the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Operation Hope and the National Center for Social Entrepreneurs will provide technical assistance and support to those organizations seeking to enhance their engagement in these fields.
