Chamber Music Northwest presents Wu Han, David Finckel and Philip Setzer March 25, 2010

Artists and long-standing friends who love to share their joy of making music together, this dream-team trio — two members of the Emerson Quartet and the incomparable Wu Han — comes together to perform Schubert’s two extraordinary piano trios. Both trios were written at the same time in the final year of Schubert’s brief life, during a period of staggering creativity that also produced the “Great” C Major Symphony and the beloved Cello Quintet. The wide emotional landscape of the piano trios and their sheer melodic joy place these works among the finest masterpieces ever written.
