Take a listening journey to the home of chamber music. Explore the rich musical tapestry of the Viennese Classical and early Romantic periods of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Experience live performances of Mozarts string quartets, Schuberts famous Trout Quintet and other influential chamber works from the Viennese music scene. Chamber Music Essentials is presented with Musica Viva, Australias oldest independent professional performing arts organization, and is based on an engaging format: active performance-listening and response workshops, live concerts and the up-close gatherings with performing musicians offer new perspectives in the experience of the art form. Prerequisite music knowledge is not required to experience how chamber music can be one of the most captivating, endlessly fascinating forms of human endeavour.
