An established and well-received singer, musician and actor in the Indian industry, Anjan Dutta seems to be concentrating only on his filmmaking skills. Little surprise that he roped in Neel Dutta for the music. After the critically acclaimed Bow Barracks, and the mixed success of The Bong Connection, Dutta is back with Chalo Let's Go. Looks like he was inspired by the success of Honeymoon Travels. There are obvious similarities: there's a travel agency (run by four friends); it's got plenty of stars (14 to be precise), and there are many stories running simultaneously in the movie. Filmed in Kolkata and Darjeeling, the movie is about four friends who tried to put together a band. They failed. So they started a travel agency. They make a trip with 10 travellers to Darjeeling. The guys who screwed up with the band, screw up with the trip as well. They land in Darjeeling and the hotel that they had booked had not made the reservations. They try to do some damage control and manage a substitute place but none of the travelers get the room they want. For example: the bird watcher gets a room without a view. Things like these keep happening and with the majority not in the mood to sort out the other's problem, the tour ends in disappointment and so does the movie.
