Deadline for submissions: February 1, 2009
There is no doubt that web technologies have revolutionized the way we
communicate and learn. Recent effects of web technologies are quite
apparent with Wikipedia reaching over 2.5 million articles (English) and
the founding of the OpenCourseWare Consortium, which continues to share
courses of prestigious colleges for free. Furthermore, the shift in
eLearning processes, practices and models is set to continue with the
advent and maturity of emerging web technologies. With such an industry
dynamic, there is a strong requirement for theoretical, empirical and
applied research to develop a future eLearning vision incorporating the
opportunities and challenges involved in realising the vision. Focusing
on the eLearning community, the goal of this workshop is to bring
researchers and practitioners together to explore the issues and
challenges related to the emerging web technologies. In particular, the
workshop aims to shed light on new web technologies and the potential
pedagogical, eBusiness, social and security impacts they may have in the
area.
