Knowledge Universe®, the nation’s largest private education and child care provider, and national non-profit Center for Companies That Care will present the 2011 Companies That Care Symposium in Portland, Ore. May 10-12.
Keynote speaker, Joseph Grenny, New York Times Bestselling author of Influencer: The Power to Change Anything and business strategist, will discuss how to create rapid and sustainable change within a company. Executives from companies such as Columbia Sportswear, Edelman, IDEO, Knowledge Anywhere, New Seasons, and the Portland General Electric Foundation, will anchor panels on a variety of topics including Innovation and the Creative Process, Talking to Your Customers in a Social/Digital World, and Working Together for Good: Community Connections. The event is open to the public.
The symposium offers a venue for some of the nation’s leading companies, including those headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, to share practical knowledge and best practices around customer, community and employee engagement.
The Companies That Care Symposium also recognizes companies from across the country whose best practices earned them a spot on the 2011 Honor Roll. Each of these companies integrates the 10 Characteristics of Companies That Care into their daily business practices. These characteristics include cultivating the full potential of all employees, encouraging the individual pursuit of work/life balance, and becoming involved in community and/or public policy endeavors.
