The celebrations will start with a programme, where former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is slated to be the chief guest and governor M.K. Narayanan the guest of honour. Narayanan will release a commemorative stamp and the first day cover on Mary Ward, founder of the Loreto Institutions.
It will be followed by a panel discussion — “Policy makers and private players hold the key to higher education”. Other events planned include a soiree by Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar and a dance drama by inmates of Bengal’s correctional homes.
The year-long celebrations will come to a close with a weeklong reunion of former students.
