About WINGS
From a simple beginning seven years ago, WINGS has grown to be a major resource throughout Guatemala, providing reproductive health information and services to thousands of women and their families. Over 80 percent of funding goes directly to programs. WINGS focuses on three areas:
• Family planning services
• Empowering young peer educators
• Cervical cancer detection and treatment
The Speaker
Sue Patterson, founder of WINGS, will present the organization’s story and discuss how WINGS is making a difference in Guatemala.
Sue was a Peace Corps volunteer in Colombia before joining the U.S. Foreign Service where her career spanned 25 years and included posts in Chile, Iran, Guatemala and Italy. She now lives in Guatemala and donates much of her time to WINGS.
