This once in a lifetime event featuring two of South Africa's greatest artists begins with a performance by iconic jazz trumpeter and world fusion pioneer HUGH MASEKELA. Following the concert, internationally renowned visual artist WILLIAM KENTRIDGE presents his astonishing film/live music project 9 DRAWINGS FOR PROJECTION -- a collection of vibrant animations accompanied by a string quartet with voice, piano, and trumpet, with music composed and conducted by Kentridge's longtime collaborator Philip Miller. Presented in collaboration with the Public Art Fund with major support provided by Bloomberg, South African Consulate General in New York and South African Tourism.
