Celebrate Japan with the Music of Rin! March 19, 2007

Celebrate the start of Japan WOW! with a performance by Rin, Japan’s popular female trio. Interested in making Japanese music accessible to the American ear, the members of Rin—Mana, Tomoca and Chie—combine the exotic and subtle sounds of traditional Japanese instruments with a contrasting framework of contemporary Western popular music. The result is a fresh, new sound.

A festive reception featuring Japanese delicacies takes place after the concert in the Natural History Museum Rotunda. This inaugural evening is sponsored by the Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C.
