CD Dance Party Potluck - Bring Your CD's to Dance To March 10, 2007

This event is a free potluck dance party, potluck in terms of both food and music. There is no admission charge. It's just a big potluck for people to meet eachother, and have fun.

Please bring your favorite CD's to dance to, and some food. Other people will do the same, so we'll have a lot of different music, and a lot of different food.

We'll have a small stereo system, which will play the music quietly enough that you'll be able to talk over it comfortably. This is not going to be some stupid ear-splitting mess that makes your throat hurt from trying to talk over the music. Quite the opposite. You should be able to hear both the music and the conversation in equal balance.

So this is mainly a mixer with dance music, where we can hang out and dance, and talk. The clubhouse is a very comfortable environment, with a large dance room, and a second room with couches and a fireplace. There is also a complete kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and standard electric stove and oven. If you want to cook something to share during the evening, go right ahead.

Please feel free to bring anyone else you'd like to. The more the merrier. This won't a be huge event, though. We're expecting roughly 75-100 people.

Please give some thought to the music you'd like to bring. It should be danceable, and not too obscure. Then please bring a CD or two to the event. We'll provide PostIt notes, so that you can leave your name on the CD, with the track numbers you want us to play. Just pick up your CD's at the end of the evening.

There will be a sign on the double doors that are the main entry to the clubhouse. It should be pretty darn obvious.

Directions:
- Driving, take 680 and get off at the Treat/Geary exit, and head south on Treat. Go through about four lights, then turn right onto Candelero, then immediately left onto Olmo, immediately right onto Pomar, and the clubhouse will be the one-story building with the small parking lot directly to your left.

- This event is very, very easy to get to on BART. Just get off at the Pleasant Hill BART station and either walk a few blocks, take a short cab ride, or coordinate with someone else who's attending to pick you up at the BART station. From Pleasant Hill BART, walking or in a cab, the directions are the same as above: south on Treat, right onto Candelero, immediate left onto Olmo, immediate right onto Pomar.
