Two-time Grammy award winners, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer will play a full two-hour show as part of the library's Dewey Decibel Concert Series and will feature folk, bluegrass, country, old-time, swing and other music for an adult audience. The Williamsburg Library Theatre is located at 515 Scotland Street, two blocks north of Merchants Square and the College of William and Mary.
Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer are an eclectic folk festival in their own right, celebrating more than 20 years of music together. Two Grammy Awards, 11 Grammy nominations in the Folk and Children's music fields, and 40 Washington Area Music Association Awards for folk, bluegrass and children's music make them top artists on a variety of circuits. They have performed at the White House Easter Egg Roll, appeared on the "Today" show and National Public Radio, and performed for the Queen of Thailand.
Critics have praised their tight harmonies and instrumental versatility. Cathy and Marcy sing, yodel, harmonize, spin tales, play breathtaking instrumentals and reach out to their audiences, which take part in the celebration.
