Catenary: Animating Art Within Geometry: Work by Doug Bosch January 3, 2010

In his new body of work, artist Douglas Bosch elevates a simple geometric phenomenon called the catenary curve, to an art form. Most of the works in 'Catenary: Animating Art within Geometry: Work by Doug Bosch are sculptures incorporating steel, fiberglass, hand-made nylon, wax, string, wire, wood and more. Bosch also introduces a new series of drawings: layer upon layer of black and grey curving lines that advance or recede depending on how dark or light they are.
