A Mexican folk artist, 1998-1999 Florida individual artist winner (folk art), 1996 Master Artist in Florida Folklife program, specializes in Mexican Day of the Dead altars and crosses artistic and cultural borders with her fine cut paper pieces. She offers altar-making workshops and is a nationally known guest speaker on the history and traditions of Dia de los Muertos, Mexican home altars and “papel picado.”
