It’s been a busy kitten season at Heartland Animal Shelter and many of those felines are still looking for a home as we roll into fall. To help more of the kittens and cats get adopted, the shelter will be holding a special cat adoption fair – Cat-toberfest – on Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th from noon until 5 pm at the shelter at 2975 Milwaukee Avenue in Northbrook.
Heartland will be expanding its cat and kitten areas during Cat-toberfest into the training hall to give adopters more room to visit with the animals available for adoption. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the various animals available for adoption. Along with the adoption fair, Heartland will be hosting an open house that will showcase the shelter and it’s animals, have fun games and activities for the kids, food, and informational booths on pet adoption.
Heartland will also be holding a special raffle for visitors that donate a case of canned Friskies, Fancy Feast or Purina Pro Plan cat or kitten food (no seafood please). Other donations from the shelter wish list are also encouraged - www.heartlandanimalshelter.net/WishList.html. Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit shelter located in Northbook dedicated to finding homeless animals their forever homes while educating the public on spaying and neutering their pets.
