Sorcerer Productions is back with the classic Tennessee Williams play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in the Studio Theatre of the Clark Center for the Performing Arts from February 10, 2012 to February 26, 2012. As the knowledge of cotton magnate "Big Daddy" Pollitt's imminent death slowly spreads among a family of would-be-heirs, the eldest son, Gooper, begins to draw up plans for the estate. Maggie, the wife of Big Daddy's most-beloved son, Brick, tries to rouse her husband out of an alcoholic depression to claim his birthright. Maggie and Brick wrestle with their love for each other, past infidelities, and the intrusive, conniving relatives all eager to push them out of the family fortune. By evening's end, Maggie's fortitude and passion puts things right, and Brick's love for his father returns him, helplessly, to Maggie's loving arms.
This Pulitzer winning, and personal favorite, play by Tennessee Williams was brought to the silver screen in 1958 with Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman and Burl Ives, and remains an icon of American Theatre. Come and relive this classic! Featuring Show Direction by Bill McLaughlin, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is one that is not to be missed! For tickets, call 805-489-9444 or visit www.clarkcenter.org.
