Casey Trees: Trees in the City Class February 3, 2010

Join Maisie Hughes, Casey Trees Director of Planning & Design and Arborist, for this three part class. This module consists of three nights of class on consecutive weeks: Wednesdays, February 3, 10 and 17, 2010. You must attend all three classes to complete the course.

We cover urban ecology, green design, environmental tree care, education and community outreach. In this class, we discuss DC’s urban ecosystem and explore strategies for involving our communities in the regreening process. The service component includes working with community groups through our Community Tree Planting program, monitoring and maintaining newly planted trees and serving as a voice in the community to support urban forestry and other green infrastructure issues.
