Formed in 1986 with the intention of amassing a group of diverse musicians from various regions to demonstrate the typical rhythms of each Latin American country, Carpacho's Super Combo is a melting pot of musicians from the United States, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Columbia. The group performs the full gamut of tropical music including salsa, merenque, cumbia, and bolero as well as samba, bossa nova, polka and paso doble.\u000AChicago salsero Wille Gomez is the leader of one of the hottest local classic 'Latin orchestras,' playing modern arrangements of salsa and mambo music with emphasis on the African rhythms.
