Friday, October 19th is the third night of the Carnival, and will have Richmond’s top alternative performance artists and musicians in a “three-ring-circus” type atmosphere, all under the big top theme of Gypsies! Tramps! Thieves! Produced by Deanna Danger Productions in conjunction with Vaudeville Galore, this “dust bowl circus,” three-act-show will have burlesque, vaudeville, bellydance, aerial arts, sideshow arts, and much live original music. Mainstage performances include the talents of music + dance duos, Maharal and Name Of The Rose, and burlesque from The Red Huntress. The upstairs gallery shall have a ‘music lounge’ with solo and epic music performances from Mister S (Name Of The Rose) and The Great Zwerdling (Maharal), while Carnival attendants can peruse the art from “Visuals,” hanging on the walls throughout the month. Carney folk will entertain passersby inside, while “hooch tent girls” will do their thing on the balcony and of course, inside the peep show booth. Busking and sideshow stunts will take place in the side gallery, and the Mistress of Ceremonies, ringleading the whole gang together is Richmond bellydance star, Khalima. Tickets for this event will be $12 advance, $15 at the door.
