Jazz pianist, vocalist, composer, and Berklee graduate Carmen Spada performs original music and arrangements. To honor his Italian roots, Spada also performs on the accordion, playing and singing the music of his heritage.
Born in Brampton, Ontario, Spada has been playing piano since age 7, after being introduced to it by his father. Spada was a recipient of the 2007 Herb Pomeroy Award in Jazz Composition, and had his music performed in the Best of Jazz Composition 1 concert as well as the Jazz Composition Cooperative Big Band concert. Nearing graduation in November 2007, Spada was chosen to have his music critiqued in a master class by Grammy Award–winner and visiting composer Maria Schneider. Her advice on and input into his original composition "Lullaby" resulted in its selection and inclusion on Berklee's Jazz Revelation Records 2008 release, Common Ground.
