Carlos Estevez and Mario Petrirena: Speak (Again) Memory July 14, 2007

This exhibition features the work of two Cuban-born artists - Carlos Estevez and Mario Petrirena. Carlos Estevez lives in Miami and paints and draws in diverse mediums such as watercolor, ink, pastel, and pencil to produce dynamic images of human and animal forms over technical, linear drawings. Mario Petrirena is based in Atlanta. His sculptures, installations and works on paper and his use of assemblage and collage is inspired by Surrealism techniques and the "art of the Spanish-speaking world.
