Reception: Saturday, May 22, 17:00 - 19:00.
In the Main Gallery, Lora Schlesinger Gallery presents "Step in Time, a new exhibition by Bay Area artist, Judith Foosaner. This will be the artist’s third exhibition with the gallery, featuring new black and white abstract paintings and collages. Foosaner's work commences with a delicate line that evolves into bold complex forms, and compositions.
In the East Gallery, Lora Schlesinger Gallery presents "Wheatfields", the gallery's first exhibition of Los Angeles artist Carlo Marcucci.
The artist creates these smooth and minimal wall-mounted sculptures in a distinctive process that involves gluing strands of dry pasta on wooden or plastic structures, resulting in patterns that could be described as linear mosaics. Some of these "Wheatfields" sculptures are designed in multiple sections and others include intersecting structures made of transparent Plexiglas, changing the nature of the pasta itself. Marcucci’s work was recently exhibited in "Second Lives: Remixing the Ordinary" at the Museum of Arts & Design, in New York.
