Acting in the Community Together (ACT), Carleton College?s volunteer and community outreach organization, will host the Fifth Annual Carleton Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, June 16 and 17, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 18 at the Carleton College West Gymnasium. The event is free and open to the public.
The sale, known to students as ?Lighten Up: Pack it or Give it,? will feature items such as clothes, linens, books, lamps, kitchenware and even non-perishable food donated by students cleaning out their dorm rooms at the end of the school year. Volunteers from ACT and other organizations will run the sale, and proceeds will go to ACT, Northfield Union of Youth (The Key), Project Friendship, Ruth?s House of Hope and Special Olympics of Northfield. Last year?s sale raised thousands of dollars for local organizations.
For more information and disability accommodations, call Carleton?s ACT Center at (507) 646-7019.
