United HomeCare has opened the doors to Miami’s first Caregiver Resource Center. A special day of activities has been scheduled at the Caregiver Resource Center to welcome caregivers and introduce this valuable resource to the community.
Morning visitors can participate in a gentle yoga class or art therapy workshop while those in the afternoon can enjoy the Healthy Caregiver Showcase: “Taking Care of Your Mind, Body & Spirit,” featuring experts in the field of caregiving, nutrition and fitness. Throughout the day, visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a unique caregiver education experience called the Virtual Dementia Tour. In just 15 minutes, participants will experience how a person with dementia views the world around them. In addition, all visitors attending the open house will receive a one-month complimentary subscription to CogniFit, an on-line brain fitness program.
