Carbon dust, gathered by rubbing a carbon pencil on fine sandpaper and applied with a dry brush onto a finely textured, clay-coated surface or polyester film, is a botanical illustration technique used to create subtle tonal transitions, strong contrast, and fine detail to achieve a very dimensional realism. This is a very advanced class.
